Scientific name: Periplaneta Americana

AMERICAN COCKROACH

Morphology: This is the largest cockroach in homes and local communities. It can measure up to 4.5 cm.  It is dark reddish color.They have lighter areas in the pronotum, developed wings and are capable of flying.

Habitat and diet: They live in dark environments, primarily in basement or sewer.

Life cycle: They reproduce by egg cases containing between 13 and 15 eggs, producing an ootheca every 30-60 days. Newborns reach sexual maturity at 23 weeks so, given that adults can live up to eighteen months, annual reproductive potential of 800 descendants.
